So… the palette that nearly broke the internet is finally in my hands! This is the Sunset Smoky Eye Palette from Armani Beauty’s Life Is A Cruise Collection. It’s three shades – the first, a cream shade highlighter, the second, a deep golden bronze and the third is a dark and shimmering grey/green. I’ve never seen such a light bounce on a palette, but you might be relieved to know that it has a slight overspray in gold – you won’t end up with X-Ray eyes!
The sister palette is the Sunrise Bronzer – again, an intense burst of light that is oversprayed with intense shimmer, so that in actual use you have a much more practical palette with a three shade embossed wave bronzer that won’t over-dazzle fellow beach goers! Usually, I’m not a fan of overspraying – however, these are SO light bouncy and shimmery that they’re more or less unwearable in real life (don’t get me wrong… it makes them incredibly covetable and ridiculously beautiful, like diamonds). I guess you get your unicorn moment and then you can just carry on…
I’ve tried to shoot them in as many different lights as possible so you can see the difference.
As part of the collection, although already existing, is the Maestro Liquid Summer Bronzer – a good option if you find powder bronzers just too dry.
The swatches above are the three waves of Sunset Smoky.
And, the three waves of the Sunrise Bronzer. I’ve swatched without the overspray.
There are also two shimmering liquid liners (Eyes To Kill Pro Liners), one in a mid-blue, Navy Lights and one in a pink shot brown called Armani Cruise. You definitely won’t lose shimmer on these – they’re long stayers and glisteny, rather than glittery.
They’re swatched above along with Liquid Summer Bronzer to give you an idea of warmth of shade. So, in a nutshell, the Giorgio Armani Beauty Life Is A Cruise Collection is all about light, warmth and heightened intensity. The overspraying will either suit or not, depending upon how ‘lit’ you like your makeup to be. If you’re unicorn, maybe not for you but if you’re mermaid, that’s another story!
It’s still early info at this stage, because these don’t launch til April, but I can tell you the palettes are £59 each.
