So, it does look as though the UK might well see Drew Barrymore Flower Power Beauty products some time this year. Because it’s only sold in Walmart, then it realistically could only be sold in Asda in the UK. It’s a funny old range really – the quads have a very old fashioned look to them; it’s like there was zero effort in any creative thinking for them, and yet, the glosses look rather creamy and lovely.
There are some creme blushes that look lovely and some fragrances that look distinctly average – it’s a real mixed bunch.
I think if I had a beauty range called Flower Power (I wish), I’d have got really busy with brights and flowers all over everything to really give it a visual point of difference. As it is, the quads particularly – couldn’t identify them in a police line-up, as the saying goes.
I’ll be very curious to see how it’s received by bloggers in the UK – and that’s where you’ll see this range because they’ve got a no-advertising policy to keep costs down. Which is rather handy, in this social media climate, right? I really hope it isn’t a ‘let’s feed it to the bloggers’ kind of attitude, because that’s more poison ivy than tulips.

I love this little line and hope you do get it (and you won’t have to shop in Walmart to get it, lucky dogs! This little hypocrite hasn’t made a non-Flower Wallyworld purchase in twelve years.). There are some serious misses from my perspective, mainly due to the fact that for some items, for example, there will only be four color options. Their “high gloss” lipstick is great formula (the matte is kind of a bummer, though I’ve discovered I don’t like matte at all anyway).
There is a blog (not mine!) that shows a lot of the upcoming changes and new releases, but I’m not sure if it’s spammy to share the link.

I did a beauty box swap with an American blogger and she got me two flower products. A mascara with a really interesting wand which had three settings, volume, length and curl. You just twisted it and could apply all three ways in layers if you wanted. It did take some taking used to, but oh my gosh did it stink! I can’t describe the smell but it was awful. Shame as it was a lovely mascara. The lipgloss was really nice but it was a bit plain. I’m not sure if the range will take off in the UK or not because it’s just a bit boring and won’t stand out.
I found the flower range quite boring really. Walmart is associated with Asda here, Boots with Walgreens, so it’s more likely to be Asda.
