Even the Dolce & Gabbana spring make up look has a rose theme – the most impressive part of the collection is the lipsticks. They are intense!
Before I get to the lipsticks, though, there is the Bacio blush – a deep brickish pink shade with plenty of intensity (so literally only whisper your brush over it) and see that little Perfect Mono? That looks rather boring? Anything but, as it turns out. Gold Dust is a golden sheen that catches light and brightens lids with white gold. It’s stunning! However, as it turns out, it’s an admin blip because it’s not part of the Spring collection – it’s an existing shade – and the true Spring colour is called Royal. It happens! I’ve already shot and swatched before discovering this, but it looks like a good fit for the collection so I’m carrying on!
Dolce & Gabbana has also gone off piste with their spring offering and included a black polish. It kind of fits the anti-spring vibe that’s around with lots of brands at the moment – I like the idea of black for spring as an unexpected look. Shades are: Lava, Bacio and Bonbon.
I like the whole aesthetic of the Dolce & Gabbana Rosa Look 2016 – creamy and soft with a flash of black.
So, here are the swatches, beginning with blush and eye and through to lipsticks (Dolce Nudo, Dolce Rosa and Dolce Mamma). This is one swipe so all the pigment intensity is there. Personally, I’m cursing that the lippie shades are matte but I’ll get around that issue by adding a gloss over the top. If you love a matte shade, I think these will make you happy.
Nail polishes are £20, Lipsticks are £29 (ouch), Blush is £33 and Mono Eye is £25. The Collection is HERE.
