Dior Addict Ultra Gloss
Dior Addict Ultra Gloss

Dior has always given good gloss but the Dior Addict Ultra Gloss have shifted things up a gear by adding in a plumping element to multi-dimensional shine. Shine is just shine, right? Actually, as it transpires, no. You can easily tell that these are pigments not seen in your everyday gloss – without getting technical, these let more light onto the lip so the colour is almost behind the light. If you pass a Dior counter, do have a swatch because you’ll easily see what I mean.

In terms of texture, zero stickiness but lots of mwah-making slip. The downside of no stick is that you need to reapply more often. With hyaluronic acid in the mix to act as a lip plumper (don’t expect the old style ‘venom’ lips – it’s more of a smoothing action) these feel like next level glosses. I’m slightly biased because I love a gloss above all other beauty things but genuinely, I’m mad for these.

The shades you can see in the swatch above are: Ultradior, Crush and Cosmic. It was rather a gloomy day yesterday when I took these pictures so it’s a good indicator of the light bounce that even on a grey day they’re shining.

To be picky and find a down side to Dior Addict Ultra Gloss, my preference is for a doe’s foot applicator or similar – I do find the little brushes on the end of these a bit less lip-huggy. The collection of 18 shades is split into Sparkling (plenty of shimmer), Iridescent (multi-dimensional) and Watery (sheer and clear). If I was to recommend any one finish, it would be iridescent because I think you’ll find it unlike anything else in your gloss stash. They’re HERE (free postage on £30 upward, otherwise £1.95).
