Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil

Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil

And, they’re back! Do you remember when the Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil launched last January? It was a complete sell out within hours, making it Clarins’ fastest ever selling lip launch (or any launch, I should imagine) of all time. I imagine that behind the scenes this took the brand very much by surprise; you make the amount of limited edition product you think you’ll sell so it was a huge underestimation of how popular the Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil products were going to be.

So, if you missed them first time around, here’s a summary of what they are and why they disappeared so quick! They’re part way between a gloss and an oil, which makes for a tacticle, less-sticky-than-gloss, more-sticky-than-oil formula that feels nothing short of lovely on the lips. I’m not sure, personally, that I’d use these to treat dry lips even though conditioning oils such as hazelnut, mirabelle and jojoba make up the formula, but more as a glorious swish of gloss over a bare lip or a lip stain.

There is no discernable colour once they’re on the lips although the slight tinting makes for a very pretty looking product and this product is much more about feeling and a cushiony presence. Bearing in mind that I have to be quite careful with lip products, I’m happy to say this does nothing more than make my lips feel soft and look gleamy. I love it! There’s a nominal scent to each one – Honey and Raspberry and neither are horrible.

You can find Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil for £18 HERE and I’d highly recommend if you’re interested in textures.

This sounds like the YSL oil tint ! Have you tried them ?
I saw a review saying the Clarins versions are less coloured and more hydrating/lipcare compared to the YSL version.
I definitely prefer the YSL for the colour intensity. I really like those kind of lip product. Those oil tints make the lips really look like baby lips ! I’m using the YSL almost daily since it came out at the beginning of this year, and still love it, and will repurchase it.
I only don’t like the too much glossiness of them, to make them look more natural, I let the product to set, about 15min, and eat it a little or lightly press a tissue on it to remove the excess shine.
It looks like that the YSL react with the air and become more intense once applied.

Those are definitely the MLBB products. You can really faint the real baby lips with them. Other traditional lip product are much more visible than those oil tints.

  2. I did notice these in Boots at the weekend and I didn’t realise that they had sold out so quickly the first time around. I will definitely be buying one, so I have they are not as limited this time around.
