Clarins Autumn 2015

Clarins give good pencil, simple as that. There are two new brow pencils, with a brow brush at the other end, and two new colour pencils to tie in with the Autumn make up collection.

My swatches have drifted off at an angle here! No wine, I promise. Starting with the two brow pencils – they’re very natural in colour and blend into the brow beautifully if you use the brush. I am not the person that spends an hour creating miniscule, hair like flicks to enhance my brows. I’m the person that smudges a line, roughly across the arch, and then blends it in with a brush so you never know it’s there and I just look blessed with pleasant brows! I really do notice a difference if I don’t use a brow pencil or brow mascara – my brows aren’t exactly pale but once I’ve put a bit of colour on them, they do look more impactful and better define my eyes. The two shades are Dark Brown and Light Brown – hmm.. maybe someone could have made just a tiny bit more effort on the product naming there!

The two new Khols are Carbon Black and True Violet – and the best thing is that they have a little brush for smudging at the far end. Smudging is the best tip for getting a smoky line over the lid without having to worry about accuracy – if you’re a bit older and losing your lids a little, try smudging under the lower lash line – still a sultry eye whichever way you look at it. Brush smudging gives a far better result than blending with cotton wool buds or those rubber end thingies (technical term, obvs) and is just as lovely as the most defined and elongated cat eye flick.

The entire Clarins Autumn 2015 collection launches in August.
