Petits Rituels Wax Melts

The Petits Rituels Wax Melts are my first experience of wax melts, and they are absolutely lovely! I’ll confess that I didn’t even know what a wax melt was until these appeared. It turns out that you need a wax melter (Yankee’s start at £12 ish HERE) that has space for the melt on top and space for a tea light to burn underneath to start melting the wax and release the fragrances.

Petits Rituels Wax Melts

Because the Petits Rituels Wax Melts come in a little cotton bag tied nicely with ribbon, you could use them to fragrance your wardrobe or drawers without going anywhere near a match. They’re all shaped like little jellies or cakes which makes them so pretty it seems a shame to actually melt them. Fragrance wise, options are Minty BonBon (Spearmint/Lemongrass), Provence (Lavender, Geranium and Ylang Ylang), Sensual Healing (Jasmine, Ylang Ylang, Rose, Lavender), Orange Gourmande (Citrus/Petitgrain), Floral Sensations (Rose, Pelargonium, Lavender) and By The Fire (Cinnamon/Citrus). The only one I don’t really like is Floral Sensations, and I’d probably pass on By The Fire unless it was Christmas, but really, these are so pretty and smell as described.

It’s £10 for two, but apparently you get 10 hours of burn from each one. As a first experience of wax melts, this is a really good one! I’m pleased to have tried them. You can find Petits Rituels Wax Melts HERE.

Wax melts. Isn’t it just a candle, deconstructed?;)

exactly so.. this is my first time using them actually, so they’re a novelty for me.

These seem really nice & the fragrances are unusual. However, £10 is so expensive for wax melts! I usually get Yankee Candle wax melts which are £1.49 each.

    Pretty Mad Things .. xo

The Flamingo Candles wax melts are lovely – made in the UK and there’s even a subscription box! These are beautiful but I would never want to melt them.

    1. Yeah I agree that these are too pretty to burn for me!

  4. You can also get electric wax melters which are handy if for some reason you don’t want a naked flame out (eg small children or inquisitive cats, or want to leave it on overnight). For the ones that use tea lights though, I find cheap oil burners work fine and are much cheaper although Yankee have some pretty ones.

The flatter shape of Yankee’s/similar brands’ wax tarts makes them easier to break up so you can mix and match scents, but these sound like they are more of a natural essential oil type scent (which would explain the higher cost).

  5. I’ve just reviewed these and love them. I especially liked the soothing Floral Sensations fragrance.
