My Burberry EDT
My Burberry EDT

I’ve got a love-hate going on with the new My Burberry EDT – the blurb says it opens on sweetpea and lemon flowers, and it actually does exactly that. The very first hit is a lemony-sweetpea burst that’s absolutely gorgeous and sweetpeas are my favourite flowers.

My Burberry EDT

On me though, that fresh start quickly moved down to a more generic, sweet scent that I found a little bit sickly – I could swear there is vanilla in it but it’s not listed anywhere on the line-up. The heart notes are peonies, peach flower and freesia, followed in the base by damask rose, white moss and musk. The lemon note does stay, but it’s more lemon tart that lemon presse.

I think if you love a warm, sweet floral, you’ll like this – I think there is just one note in it (and I don’t know what it is) that’s not quite right for me. Presentation wise, it’s quite a chunk of glass and a beautiful horn finish lid that doesn’t give any indication of the light florals inside.

My Burberry EDT is £52 (30ml) – it will roll out to all stores eventually but for now it’s at Burberry.com HERE.
