Elemis British Botanical Glow Candle
Elemis British Botanical Glow Candle

Elemis gives good Christmas! Every year without fail, the brand comes up with great packaging, strong TSVs on QV C and pretty things that you actually want. My sister is an Elemis addict so I have a particular fondness for the brand – it makes her happy, doesn’t make her skin react (lots of other brands do) and ensures that she gets some pamper time. She is a busy mum of three and is hopeless at making time for herself and a good example of why the rituals of beauty are as important as the products themselves. She will, at least, take a few minutes to enjoy cleansing and moisturising or showering with a beautifully scented shower gel with a lovely candle on the burn. When you’re super busy, those moments are precious and Elemis is the brand that makes her stop, just for a little while. Hopefully, we’ve all got brands that trigger the thought that it’s worth taking some me-time. I think with Elemis, they manage to get across the ‘spa’ aspect so well, it never feels utilitarian but instead, something worth a bit of your time – it’s a model hundreds of other brands would love to know the secret to.

The other point to make (in this Elemis love-in!) is that the brand presents their products really well. This white vanity case containing Pro-Collagen Advanced Eye Treatment, Pro-Collagen Marine Cream and a Pro-Collagen Marine Mask is actually pretty nice – gold detailing and sturdy as well as being roomy. The one thing (to nit-pick) is that on the back of the box this set comes in, is written, “we recommend boosting your skincare programme with an Elemis professional facial’, which is a bit of marketing too far. No need.

But, back to the candle! The Elemis British Botanical Glow Candle is spa-scented, not Christmas scented. It’s a blend of lavender, chamomile, geranium and palmarosa so the ideal ‘hour long bath’ candle. I’m wondering if it is the candle they burn in the actual Elemis spa. It’s not for you if you like more traditionally festive candles but if you need a ‘trigger’ scent to put you into relax mode, I’m pretty sure it will do the job. A busy mum’s perfect ‘hello, you need to sit down’ kind of candle. It’s £25 HERE. Treasures of The Sea is £68 (value £104) HERE. However, I’d strongly suggest you sit tight til Black Friday on these – I feel, certainly with Treasures, there may well be some deals.
