Uniqlo Rain Parka
Uniqlo Rain Parka

I’m pretty sure it won’t have escaped anyone’s notice that it’s been raining – a lot! Last Friday, there was a deluge for which I wasn’t well equipped at all. If you’ve ever seen the sight of someone losing control of their umbrella, well, it was that kind of situation – funny to watch, not so funny if it’s happening to you. I have a rain hat (it’s one of life’s mysteries really how I ended up with this because I paid £50 for it in Jaeger… I do not know what I was thinking… but it’s ended up being the most useful thing I’ve ever had to save my hair from looking unneccessarily exciting) which in our house is known as the ‘hat of shame’ because it’s so unattractive. If you follow me on Periscope then you will have already met the ‘ovenglove of shame’ named for for similar reasons!

So, I ended up diving into Uniqlo and buying the Uniqlo Rain Parka on Regent Street – I have barely stopped wearing it! I love it – it doesn’t look like a fuddy duddy raincoat because it’s in the parka style, it’s feather light, and although it claims to keep away ‘light rain’ I think this is a cautious description because I’ve been out in all weathers and have not got in the least wet. Better yet, it all scrunches up into a little bag. It’s the best £30 I’ve spent all year! Anyway, as you might imagine, it’s flying out of the stores and on-line so if you’re tempted, don’t wait. You can find it HERE.
