I know I’m not alone in liking the simplicity of a soap rather than hand washes. I keep handwash in the kitchen and soap at the bathroom sink and both options for the shower. And, it’s such a simple thing that I appreciate a variation on the theme and don’t mind stumping up for a better than average soap bar. Good case in point is the Atelier Cologne version above – the presentation, with a leather style band, bright, shiny paper that locks the scent in totally has my inner soap magpie fluttering around!
Once the wrappings have gone, it’s a reassuringly solid bar, with a higher fragrance than most ‘luxury’ soaps. Mine is Bergamot Soleil that’s fresh and citrussy with kick of cologne, but I like the look of Orange Sanguine (£17 HERE). The soaps are made to traditional French methods and contain shea butter and aloe vera so the lather is not at all drying. If you wash your hands a lot, you will notice the difference.

Lovely Persian buttercups in the photo Jane . And the soap sounds gorgeous. AC have some fabulous perfumes. I like the Santal Carmin or is the other way round… there is something very satisfying about washing your hands with a “proper” soap that is a amiss with liquid ones. Great post xx
I have a sample of the orange sanguine perfume – it’s lovely. Definitely something I would like in a soap!
I love bar soap, I find handwash so drying. These sound lovely!
Really beautiful photos x
