The star of the YSL Saharienne 2015 limited edition summer collection is the Bronzing Palette. It’s available in seven shades in a blur-creme formula, so as you can imagine, it glides across the skin, transforming from a creme formula to a matte, not quite powdery finish. If you fancy trying some contouring with this, the brush is shaped perfectly to create lines that can then be diffused with the sponge. I’d advise going very gently at first with the amount of formula you use – it’s absolutely buildable so you can easily add more if needed.
I have Shade 7 here – the deepest colour.
The theme for YSL Saharienne 2015 is Morocco so think sun drenched, high colour, with spicy elements. Personally, I find these polishes a bit of a challenge! Brun Henne is very brickish in shade, and Juane Babouche is a lightly spiced yellow. Both, I imagine, would look sensational in Marakesch, but not sure they’ll translate that well to south east London! They’re £19 each.
The liners, in Majorelle Blue and Deep Green are stunning! Think minimal make up face – just touches of warm bronze, some sooty lashes and a vibrant flash of vivid colour across the lids; honestly, absolutely gorgeous! These are £25.50 each.
The final product that I have here (although I’d do the lip gloss in a separate post – they’re the most lovely shades!) is the Kiss & Blush in Corail Incadescent, a pinky coral shade that does that pop thing on your cheeks. It gives cheeks a lightly sheened colour and a more matte effect on lips.
To get the ‘pop’ effect, you add Kiss & Blush in a three dot formation (as above) on the high point of the cheeks and then blend from there. It’s £28.50 (there is another shade – Ocre Luxurieux which is a brown shade.. beautiful, but I don’t have it at the moment).
Finally, the Couture Palette in Mauresques; a fusion of golden toned browns.
I’d wear (and will!) all of these earthy shades – they’re sheeny on the skin (apart from the golden shade which is metallic) and perfct for creating either neutral eyes or a bit of a smoky smoulder. It’s £42.50.
The YSL Saharienne 2015 summer collection launches on 27th May.

Is shade 7 the right shade for you Jane (to use as a bronzer?). I am v similar to you (I think!) and got shade 4 (online) but thinking I should have gone darker?! Many thanks xx
No, it’s too dark for me – I think less is more with this product.
WOW! I’m practically daydreaming about that Saharienne palette – how beautiful!

I tried to find shade 7 online anywhere for sale and can only seem to find shades 1-6 – I asked a YSL SA in U.S. and she had no knowledge of a shade 7, very strange! have you tried the pink blur balm? any clue if it is coming to US? thank you!!
Hi there.. I’ve checked with the PR office and it’s a limited edition shade (unsure whether UK or worldwide). I have tried – and liked – the blur balm.. and not sure about US availability, sorry.
Oh I do like the dark green liquid liner. £25 is a lot of money for a liner, but I guess if it flows well and doesn’t dry out quickly then it might be worth it, and I’m assuming YSL would be pretty much guaranteed great quality x
