The main thing with both Violent Lips and newcomer, Violent Eyes, is that you need patience and plenty of it. These glitter effects work brilliantly but not if you rush at it and not if you don’t follow instructions. 

First of all, you need to cut to the correct shape of your eye – each design has a stencil on the reverse side. If you need to cut at all, which you may not, you always do it from the inner corner. Peel off the plastic film:

Using a cotton bud, dampen the paper backing which makes the applique flexible and apply sticky side down to your lid. Then, adding more water with a cotton bud (it doesn’t need to be dripping, just moist) gently infuse the paper with water – at a certain point (after a few seconds only) it becomes obvious that the paper is ready to slide away, and voila!

The look is very stylised – almost patent-like which no pencil or liquid liner can yet do. I like it.
