I didn’t think I would be all that excited about a hand cream with anti-bacterial properties, but thinking about it properly, this represents quite a change to traditional anti-bacs that often contain a lot of alcohol and can be drying on the hands. Tests have shown that the Vaseline 2-In-1 Hand Cream + Anti Bac (arghhh enough with the long names!) showed a 99.9% reduction in bacteria within 15 seconds of use. I like the fact that it is quite moisturising as well so you are killing two birds with one stone, and in fact, if you’re like me and a bit slack with the handcream, it may well encourage you to use it more.
What it doesn’t say, however, is what bacteria it actually kills and whether it tackles the hardcore stuff – I can’t imagine it is going to have hospital grade bacteria killing qualities, but on the other hand I don’t really know if the conventional anti-bacs do either. Anyway, it’s £3.29 at your favourite large high street chemists.

Well, it certainly is a great price! I also like the idea of a hand cream with antibacterial properties, as I too find that most antibacterial gels are very drying.
I have a strong feeling that this won’t do either job very well. This is one of those combo products that just don’t work.
The anti bacterial stuff will dry out and the cream hydrates sure, but not in the same product at once. Can you imagine how much they would have to add to make this stable?
Not at drugstore prices 😀
I’m kind of skeptical about it’s antibacterial qualities but i have literally been waiting for something like this to come out! I wonder if other brands do this? Two staples in my bag are antibacterial gel and hand cream and a 2 in 1 product is amazing for me 🙂
