I hate using the ‘iconic’ word in relation to beauty products; it’s a title that gets slapped on all sorts of undeserving items, but in this case it’s totally appropriate. Revlon’s reissue of Cherries In The Snow lipstick this month is a great move, totally tapping into the ‘everything pink’ look. A red-shot fuschia pink, it’s hugely dramatic and first made it’s debut in the 1950’s along with the above ad. Cherries In The Snow nail enamel, however, has stayed the course through the decades; I can’t really understand why the lipstick was discontinued in the first place when the nail enamel wasn’t. Anyway, you can now get matchy-matchy in a good way for lips and tips and channel your inner Doris Day.
