If you’re looking for a fragrance name to watch, I think I can say that Dom de Vetta is it. His new fragrance line, Shay & Blue is going to the be the editors’ darling in the coming months. When you know Dom de Vetta’s history, you will quite see why.

As the man who conceptualised the Chanel Les Exclusives range and who stood in Jo Malone’s shoes when she left Jo Malone (the company is now owned by Estee Lauder) as Global General Manager (not sure whey the ‘general’ bit is necessary there in the title…), he found and worked closely with new ‘nose’ Christine Nagel on the new directional fragrances. So, a more pleasing history would be hard to find.

I haven’t seen or smelled the scents yet, but you’ll be seeing a very great deal of Dom in the coming glossy pages. The fragrances sound like direct competitors to the current Jo Malone range; Sicillian Limes, Amber Rose, Almond Cucumber and Blood Oranges (containing Pomelo… a note most recently used in Jo’s fragrances, Jo Loves, in…er, Pomelo).
