I was introduced to Shan Rahmikhan a while ago, but when I tried the products they didn’t seem to do much over and above for my hair. My hair is curly, but not at all coarse, and I straighten it out as much as I possibly can. However, this range of products really seems to suit those with coarse and curly, or very curly hair. It just seems to have found its comfort zone with hair of that type especially, which is a very good thing as is a type not that well catered for. My friend Debbie gave it a test run for me because I wanted it tried on a couple of hair types, not just my own. Here’s her verdict:

“I have always had a roller-coaster relationship with my hair. Mostly I love it, long, curly and commented on, sometimes I hate it (long, curly and… you get the idea) so I have never been faithful to one brand or one price range either. What I am faithful to is tracking down products that actually work for my hair. Often, specific shampoos and conditioners for curly hair can dull them down and are too heavy for the curl, so when Shan Rahmikhan thrust two products into my hands specifically ‘for your hair, definitely’ I was slightly cynical. The True Control shampoo is vitamin enriched (and also contains bamboo and aloe vera) to smooth the hair structure and the Go Smooth Style & Care which replaced conditioner left my hair feeling shiny and held a curl – well, til I slept on it, of course! These products really aren’t cheap but a little seems to go a long way – and I have a lot of hair. The shampoo gives a good lather and you only need a tiny bit, and the cream was really light and didn’t weigh down my hair. I’d recommend for unruly curls and coarse, thick hair.”
