I’m so annoyed with this product – it’s really hard to use and very, very easy to over-use which is why I’ve ended up having to wash my hair twice in one hour. Oilixir is described as Liquid Gold for dry hair. It contains Argan oil, which I absolutely love and so does my hair but also contains olive oil, which is a much sticker consistency. Therefore, you don’t get a lovely, easily dispersable, silky oil, but more a very thick oil that is very hard to move through the hair. In fact, it almost feels as though you are waterproofing your hair.

Instructions suggest you should only use 1 pump of Oilixir but that feels like almost nothing, so it is a natural move to think it can’t be enough. It IS! I used three pumps concentrating on the drier ends and using what I thought was just a tiny amount towards the roots. By the time I’d blow dried my hair it looked absolutely lank and greasy – quite a hard trick to achieve for dry hair! So, I have just had to wash it (and blow dry it) all over again.

You can actually use this as a pre-shampoo treatment – a much better idea, and unless your hair is truly, truly drier than a crisp, use this with caution. On the plus it is made from 100% natural origin ingredients and 95% of those are from organic farming. In my view, how you are advised to use this product needs to be reassessed and much clearer instruction on both use and suitable hair type needs to be added.
