Penhaligons Movember
Penhaligon’s Movember

I think we’re very well used to products that make donations to breast cancer and cancer in general, but there aren’t many that are specifically for cancers that only men get, such as prostate cancer.

Women are much better (in my experience) in talking about their illness and experiences with cancer and I think men don’t feel they can always talk so openly about it. What drives change in funding for cancer research (men or women) is awareness and discussion which is why the Movember movement is such an important time,  not only for fund raising but also for raising the profile (such an awkward term, but it’s true) of prostate cancer so that it is gets attention. So far, Movember has been key in not only fund raising, but ensuring that we all know about prostate cancer. So, while deaths from prostate cancer have fallen by a fifth in 20 years (ref: Cancer Research UK) the reality is that many, many men (young and old) still die from it.

Men across the world are encouraged to grow a Mo in November so if all the guys you know start to look extra hairy, you know why! So, make a donation HERE or, if the Mo you know is looking rather straggly – or even, for that matter, luxuriantly healthy, help things along with Penhaligon’s Moustache Wax, £5,  (above) that donates a healthy £2 from each tin sold on-line. It’s HERE.
