Michael Kors Sexy Ruby

I find most Michael Kors fragrances entirely wearable – they usually edge on that sweet-floral that I like without it being overpowering – and I think of them as everyday wear scents. While the messaging on Sexy Ruby is eye-rollingly excruciating (“the story of a strong woman – women who know what they want and go after it” …. you don’t say – how unusual!) it’s got a burst of jasmine sambac that tips it into the very heady and sexy ‘night bloom’ category. My current favourite fragrances are McQueen and Dolce & Gabanna Velvet Desire. It’s not nearly to the same strength as either, but that same trail is there and it’s lovely.

As you can see, the bottle is gorgeous – an absolute red rock of a bottle which I guess is where the ruby element comes in. The fruity opener of apricot and raspberry is evident but is quickly overtaken by the jasmine and vanilla. It’s got mellow woody bottom notes (and, er, crystal moss, whatever that is) and overall is a smooth, luscious wear that makes me think of velvet wraps and candle lit dinners and it’s a great change of season fragrance.

The best price I can find it at is at Escentual HERE (free postage over £30) at £39 for 30ml.
