FitFlop is virtually the only non-beauty product I ever blog about but since I live in them more or less and have done for three years, it’s been interesting to watch them emerge from their initial conception as a kind of odd looking flip-flop into the fabulous styles I see now. So, as a long term user, do they really do the job of toning and honing? Well, yes and no. I have noticed that my calves and the backs of my legs are really toned, but as for the bum…sadly, not. However, they’re so damn comfortable that I really couldn’t care less. I used to have low back pain pretty regularly and can honestly say I very rarely experience it now.

i’m sorry but this will NEVER go on my feet. EVER! EVER! i’m all over the low boot…i want the higher one but uh…i don’t think it will fit over my calf and i can’t really wear it with trousers, it’d look really strange under my work trousers. and i just can’t be one of those girls who looks amazing and fabulous in her pencil skirts. too much effort. so yeah. low boots. and they’re expensive! worth it…(i hope) but expensive. so….yes.

Are they actually comfy though? I’m so tempted to buy myself some toning shoes {despite them looking a bit strange} for walking the pooch and trust me my legs need all the help they can get!!
i love my fitflops! not sure about this chunky boot though, coz they look quite chunky, but coz I love my fitflops so much I may rethink trying them on at least if they’re in shops soon.
I’ve heard that too, when I was discussing fitflops earlier this year with a colleague, she said after she gave birth she had a bad back alignment and it helps her with that. pretty amazing from a flipflop eh!
My friend loves ‘toning shoes’ and told me I needed some because they’re so comfy and they do tone. I totally forgot I was going to get some – thanks for reminding me!

Rachelblogs – are they comfy? Hell yes! No other reason I would succomb to them! Plus they add about 5cm to your height too which is always nice for shortarses like me! I’m contemplating the kneehigh boot, but they are £200, however judging by the cost-per-wear of previous fitflops I’ve had, it’ll be worth it! Liking these fringed ones too!
I like the variants that don’t have the moulded sole with the ridges round the toes but those ridges just don’t match how my foot works and they give me the most horrific blisters so the actual flip flop style is a complete no. I’ve got some of the boots from last year though.

honestly, just read the review you wrote about a line of toning products called Nip and fab and how we are all being had and exercise is the only way to stay slim…. and the next review i read your singing the praises of monstrous and grossly overpriced boots (obvious “made in china” look about them) that will “slim, tone and firm your bum.
I wonder is this a fair way to review products….I was really suprised at the review of nip and fab, i picked up the dry leg balm and it was amazing. Just dont think it is repsonsible to attack one brand for something they claim, and highly praise another for the same claims. will look for my expert opinion from an unbiased source from now on.
Er, excuse me BeautyBlaster – I said in the post that they *didn’t* tone my bum, but had helped my legs. Which is hardly *singing the praises*. It’s an honest opinion of a style of shoe that have genuinely worn for 3 years…if they hadn’t helped by now then I wouldn’t still be buying them every season.
Point taken, what i am trying to say is that its a shame, this is a nice, cute and fun line and i geniunely loved some of the products. I mean if anyone is foolish enough to by a Tummy Gel and beleive they will “drop a jean size” whilst eating burgers and fries then they are setting themselves up for disappointment. The idea that we as consumers can get hold of an affordable version of high brands like rodial is a good one and I am sure many followers like myself like the concept, its not that new…. (Lanvin and H&M, Soap and Glory & Bliss). Would have liked a more balanced review is what I am trying to say, i dont think this line makes anymore outrageous a claim than L’ROreal, Bliss, Boots and the other brands out there (1 million lashes….. :-))
If you love the products then that’s great and if you feel they work for you – even better. However, I don’t think the Rodial/Niop + Fab piece could be called a review – it was more an opinion post – and I remain of the opinion that the same owner of both brands is asking £100 at Rodial for a product claiming to do less in more time than it’s sister brand that is selling for under £20. That just doesn’t add up for me in any way whatsoever.
