Maybelline Baby Lips Balm & Blush

Okay so this year’s most oddly shaped beauty product is only weeks away from our shores. Set for a January launch, the Maybelline Baby Lips Balm & Blush has had enthusiastic reviews stateside. They’re really strange little things – very light on colour and very balmy but seem to do a good job on delivering a hint of sheer colour to both lips and cheeks.

There are five shades –  Innocent Peach, Flirty Pink,
Juicy Rose, Booming Ruby, and Shimmering Bronze; I’d recommend Booming Ruby as it seems to have the most pigment – it’s a red shade but because it’s so sheer gives a pretty flush on cheeks. You will get a sheen on that flush but I like a dewy cheek look so for me it’s fine. If you love matte, avoid using on the cheeks.

I think this swatch shows quite well what kind of sheen you can expect on cheeks. As far as lips go, again, it’s a decent, although very light, tint. They all have a general sweet scent – it’s not horrible but it is a bit like Haribos! Shimmering Bronze maybe isn’t one for the lips – it does have actual glitter chunks (small ones) in it and I don’t know if bronze lips is a thing?!

Anyway, they’re £4.99 a pop and launch nationwide in January.
