I think I can safely say that Poppy King, aka The Lipstick Queen, has perfected lipstick. Actually, she was at QVC in the Green Room and I’m kicking myself for not saying hello, and also my segment followed hers. Try following the Lipstick Queen! Poppy’s newest creation, Velvet Rope, shown above in Brat Pack. I’m waiting for samples to swatch, but in the meantime, they’re mega-pigment with sheen but crucially, and what marks them out from other lipsticks, they have a silk finish feel and weight.
The line up includes Private Party – the hottest pink, Brat Pack – the true red, Entourage – the richest wine, Black Tie – the deepest red, and Star System – the ultimate nude. However, the big drawback.. and it is quite a biggie.. is that they are £35 EACH, only missing the Tom Ford outrageousness by £1.
I don’t know the exact launch date, but you’ll find them in SpaceNK around September time.

This lipstick is, as described, suitable for all skin tones. It suits my red-haired daughter just as well as it does me.
I miss Star System so much. I hate that they discontinued it. I’ve been searching for it’s dupe ever since … unsuccessfully.
I feel your pain – still searching for Gucci Rene Pink Balm dupe – got close but no match 🙂
