If you’re going to ask £35 for a lipstick, it better be something very special indeed. As far as packaging goes, Lipstick Queen Silver Screen is possibly one of the best dressed lipstick ranges I’ve ever come across.

It’s like looking at the Manhatten sky line (or actually, Canary Wharf, if you’re London based). The casings are gorgeous, architectural ridged columns of silver – heavy in the hand with a magnetic click on the close.

Once they’re out of the casing Lipstick Queen Silver Screen lippies sit on a flat, square panel of silver metal – no more wobbly lipsticks. It’s also clearly where the magnets are stored for the click finish because this was the straightest possible line I could get them in – they all kept sliding away from each other!

Now to the format. What’s new for Silver Screen is Pomegranate Sterols that apparently helps to soften and hydrate the lips for longer. Good.. hope it does, because lipsticks, no matter what they claim, are pretty much always drying one way or another. The finish is really more of a sheen than anything – great colour saturation and plenty of pigment that feels very comfortable (but no more so than many others). The formula seems to have a little tingle of mint which I don’t love, but it’s so barely there it is not going to stop me wearing Come Up (the baby pink).

In the swatch, from left to right are: Made It, See Me, Come Up, Have Paris, You Kid and Stella! I’m literally kicking myself for missing one off the pictures and swatch – sorry, Play It – you’ll get a little post all of your own! I don’t have a launch date yet, but the range is headed for SpaceNK.
