Lancome Matte Shakers

I know, they look so lovely, don’t they?  I loved the original Shakers – they were bi-phasic lip oils and on that basis my expectation wasn’t for a huge level of pigment; I think they came out last summer so I had them down as good beach bag, fun products. These are a little different – you look like you’re getting a huge amount of pigment (see swatch) but the sponge applicator acts as a diffuser, so you get far less than you’re expecting on the lip for a matte product and end up with a stain rather than a colour lay down. I think I don’t get the point of a matte tint. Plus, they’re supposed to be weightless or ‘second skin’ and I can feel a film on my lips – it’s light, but definitely there.

Lancome Matte Shakers

There are so many great matte products out there – I’m not sure these fit into any particular category really. They still have all of the fun element – they look great. They just seem to fall between the cracks of being useful and purposeful.
