I can’t tell you how much I’ve been dying to try the Lancome Juicy Shakers, or to give them their full name, Biphasic Colour Infusion Lip Oil. The reason mine aren’t biphasic at the moment is because they had a shake up on their journey here. When they’ve settled again, I’ll pop a picture up on Instagram.
I think these are what you might call beauty fancies – the fun of them is half the pleasure. In terms of what they’re supposed to do, well, Lancome Juicy Shakers combines oils (peach kernel, sweet almond, cranberry, omega 3 & 6 and sweet rose musk) with pigment. The pigment normally settles to the bottom of the bottle, while the oils stay up top. Your job is to shake them up so that when you apply with the little cushion nub, you get the perfect blend of oil and pigment.
The result is a light, translucent, non-sticky lip oil that looks like a gloss. If you were looking for deep pigment shades, you won’t find them here, but this is a spring/summer launch for when translucent brights look gorgeous. I’m thinking beach bag, here.
To a certain extent, the more you shake, the more pigment you’ll get on the little applicator so you can play around with intensity. Either way, I love the Lancome Juicy Shakers – they’ve brought the fun back to beauty and they’re an any age product; I feel much the same way about these as I do when I look at Hello Kitty!
I’ve found that they need frequent reapplication but the oil texture is so light and lovely I don’t have a problem with that (I’m a gloss lover – re-applying is part of that package!).
There are 14 shades on their way on 2nd March and they’re £18 each. Oh, the last point – each one has a fruity flavour. The shades above are Cherry Symphony, Wondermelon and Apri-Cute, which takes the guess work out of the scents!
