Bad Girl Swatches

I’ve got mixed views on the Kiko Bad Girl? collection now that I’ve done some swatching. Starting with the Vibe Long Lasting Eyeshadows, each one has two shades in one crayon. While multi-function is great, it’s really got to work, and with the shadows you have to be so careful in application it’s very easy to get a bit of the other colour on the lid.

I’ve taken this in sunlight so you can see the shimmer level. The first one is 06 – a cream colour high shimmer and on the twist, a charcoal shade. The charcoal didn’t come out evenly at all, although it was the only one of the shadows that didn’t. The middle swatch is 04, a pewter shade and the twist is a deep grey-green. Finally, 01 – my least favourite – it’s high on shimmer but there isn’t a big enough difference between the two sides to make any impact. It’s nominally gold/peach and white/gold. The shadow sticks are £7.90 each.

Next up is the blush stick, and it’s the same problem – very tricky to not to get the two blurring into each other on the application. With the blush stick, I tried each side and then tried just doing a sweep of both and then blending, but that rather defeated the point. It’s got a lot of shimmer, although the shade (01) is a very pretty peach with creamy white highlighter.

I just can’t see that I would have a use for this when it’s just so much easier to use a separate blush and highlighter! Anyway, it’s £8.90.

The best things from the Kiko Bad Girl? collection are the lipsticks. Each one has two shades, and you’d think they’d give some kind of two-tone effect on the lip – but they don’t! As standard lipsticks, they’re creamy and beautifully pigmented, and give a decent colour last. I wore one of these yesterday (02) and while the full impact faded after an hour or so, there was still colour there several hours later.

The first shade in the swatch is a ultra-raspberry shade (03), and the second an orange lit red (02). These are decent enough lipsticks for £7.90 – certainly as good as any luxury buy.

If you missed thebeautiful playing card inspired Fall Winter collection, it’s on sale (literally half price!) and personally, it’s where I’d put my Kiko pennies over and above the new Bad Girl collection. Everything is HERE.

There are fuller product pictures HERE – I don’t think everything has gone on-line in the UK yet – there are two more lipsticks than are showing on Kiko UK for a start.
