On the sofa with Alison
On the sofa with Alison

Yes, I know I look a little sad, but I prefer to think of it as concentrating on my craft (ahem, cough). I took a seat on the QVC sofa with Alison this afternoon to talk about some of my favourite products and top recommends for QVC viewers to buy. I can’t believe QVC is 20 this year!

Behind the scenes, before I went on air, that’s where the action is! There’s a ‘green room’ while people wait to go on the show and you watch as the show airs for when your turn is coming up. In the green room was Lulu Guinness – one of my idols. Of course, I was far too restrained to leap up and hug and kiss her and say ohmygodiloveyourbagsiloveyou which is just as well really, because I’d probably have been escorted from the building! I also spotted Leighton Denny (or as some of the commenters on the QVC website call him, Lenny Denny!), Poppy King and Dr Marko Lens (of Zelens skincare) who was being ably looked after by Caroline Hirons! I tell you, it was like Piccadilly Cirucs in there!

Once on air (I’m not really shy or nervous about being in front of a camera) the time went in a flash – I think I got a bit of a tough grilling from Alison so had to think on my feet but because I was talking about products I know like the back of my hand it was really okay. In fact, I think I could say I enjoyed it. I’ve known Alison for many years anyway so it was very nice to catch up and a bit like chatting with a friend about beauty – except with a huge audience!

So, the products I discussed were Seche Vite, AD Skin Synergy Facial Oil and Benefit They’re Real Mascara. They were short-listed by QVC from a list of 20 products I felt I would be at home and comfortable talking about. You can see the full list HERE (and of course, snap up the products if you want to on the QVC site HERE).
