Regular readers of this blog will know that I would fight to the death for my beloved Sisley lipbalm, of which I have many dotted around the house because I panic buy – the thought of running out puts me in a spin. However, I have been looking at other balms too, and a couple have been stood out in the world of balm brilliance. I was sent a couple of pots of BonBon Balm and to be honest, wasn’t looking forward to trying them because they are flavoured. It’s just an odd little peccadillo of mine that I hate flavoured balms. But, BonBon in Mandarin is actually more than tolerable – in fact, other than a tiny taste of saccharine sweetness, the most mandarin thing about it is the scent. And, that is quite pretty thanks to organic mandarin essential oil rather than artificial fragrancing. BonBon Balms are all made by hand with natural ingredients which combines to make a balm that feels light on the lips but doesn’t disappear after one sip of water. BonBon also do a Balm of The Month and a BonBon Club where members are sent a balm at the beginning of each month. At £5 each, these are good value, natural balms with a choice of flavours including Strawberry, Mojito, Chocolate and Mint Tingle. www.bonbonbalm.com
