Oh my goodness.. the Illamasqua Spooktacular was so much fun but everyone was far too good at guessing! I thought I’d show some of the behind the scenes pictures because being made up to that extent is quite a performance. Make-up artist, Mica, did the most spectacular job, starting with Rose from MixedGems (peeping behind me in the bottom pic), then on to Ree at Really Ree and finally me. Spob (amazing hair and wig expert) had a variety of wigs for us – going blonde was weird but not as weird as the head scarves we all had to wear underneath..
There was some pretty wild contouring going on – Ree took the brunt of it! All in all it took about three and half hours to get us all ready to scare… all of this (not unexpectedly) is so out of my normal make up remit – but that purple lip – I am definitely going to do it in real life! It’s called Shard (find it HERE) and it’s matte.. so far out of my comfort zone on so many levels!
We really had a brilliant time – everything was so painstakingly done so I have to say a big thank you to Mika and Spob and everyone at Illamasqua for my spooky look!

You look so different with the blonde hair – but it all looks really good together not scary at all!
Looks great! I’m debating whether I should go to a make up artist for a 1920’s flapper girl look, got the idea from SearchBeautyBook but am still trying to figure out the finishing touches.
This make-up looks amazing! I wish I was better at doing dramatic/fantasy make-up or else I would definitely go for something like this. I did however read the same article as Savannah on SearchBeautyBook. It not only inspired me to be a 1920’s flapper girl for halloween, but also to see ‘The Great Gatsby’.
