Continuing on with Guerlain Spring 2016, excluding La Petite Robe Noir make up, there’s a definitely colour pop theme going on. However, it’s a bit of a strange mix. While we’ve got the two stand out pieces (above), the metallic red cased Smile blush, and the Enjoy eyeshadow in a golden case, the rest of the Spring Glow Collection is quite ordinary. There are five eye liners in dark khol shades and two lipsticks (I don’t have these yet) in pops of pinky coral.
Obviously, I’m completely smitten with the blush – it’s totally my kind of thing because it’s fun and happy – but less so with the eyeshadow which I wish had been in a more popping colour.
For Guerlain traditionalists, there’s a reworking of Meteorites Voyage with the powders pressed very tightly together this time, and a repackage for the Meteorites Base, full of multiple shade pearlescent particles. I don’t think I’ve ever properly given this Guerlain iconic product a proper test, so I’m going to ensure I do. I just wish those little balls didn’t get crushed on the way out of the bottle by the dispenser. I’d kind of like to hold them!
So – a rather discordant mix really – I think if you’re going to set a theme, it probably needs to carry through the range. I’m fairly sure it’s not that hard to make eye pencils have a metallic shiny coating. However, I can see that this will appeal to new and old consumers – a ‘something for everyone’ collection – and the blush is making me all kinds of happy!
I don’t have prices yet for the range but I do know it launches in Febraury 2016.

I’ve never really thought much about Guerlain but them working with bloggers has got them back on my radar!

Those look like two separate collections. I get that Guerlain is going after a younger market but I’ve been wearing them since I was about 20 (25 now). Not all younger people are after flashy or bright packaging and if that does interest me, then I want it to be cohesive. Maybe the Meteorites compact should have had a coloured outer compact?
The blush is great. Does the Meteorites base replace the current one? I don’t understand why the excessive packaging for that tiny strip of eye shadow; seems pointless and impractical for storage.
