The most angelic thing someone has done for me is an easy one.
Many moons ago when I was young & foolish I was heading abroad to be with my lover (I know, I know!!).
On the morning of my departure I was SO ill that I couldn’t pack my suitcase never mind move out of my flat. My beautiful best friend packed my case, waved me off at the airport in tears, then returned to pack up my entire flat, clean it and hand over the keys to the landlord.
Thankfully I saw sense several months later and came home again, *rolleyes* but this is truly the most selfish and angelic thing anyone has ever done for me & we are still best friends to this day.

I was on holiday with parents and this girls family that I didn’t get along with at them time, at the age of 13. We hung out on the beach that day, but we argued quite a lot. I was paddling in the sea and I suddenly got my foot cut on some glass. There was blood everywhere and it was just me and her. She attempted to carry me for 20minutes to the caravan with my foot bleeding. I was a lot heavier than her, but she still did it. When I got back, I needed to have stitches to the bottom of my foot and I was so thankful that she got me back to my parents. We have been good friends ever since!

My hubby has been working long hours lately & my ME/CFS has me stuck at home most of the time. That afternoon I got a delivery of flowers, with a box of chocolates & a teddy bear! Apologies for double post – my phone was being a pain & signed me in as my hubby!
i found out only a few weeks ago that I can’t have children. It all came as such a shock as I’d gone to the doctors thinking I had an under-active thyroid but tests were done and I have small tumours on my cervix (Ewww- sorry!). I’m only 22 and I’m more heartbroken than words can say. I’d sob on the phone to my mum every night but she was helpless as I live around 200 miles away from her. She would reassure me and try and calm me in every way. But the most angelic thing that she did was offer to carry my child. I still have a few eggs left and my partner is fine so my mum said to me she’d go through all the stress of pregnancy and giving birth just to bring her grandchild and my baby into the world. I am overcome with emotion and she makes me feel positive about the future. She’s my angel and, with some luck, hopefully I’ll have a little angel of my own in the future!
Many moons ago, when I was what seems like a different person, I was in an abusive relationship.
The boy I was with constantly belittled me and I became a shell of myself. I only ever wore trousers and baggy jumpers at his request. When I walked down the street I kept my eyes to the ground for fear of being accused of looking at other guys.
This boyfriend of mine forced me to give up my dream of being a musician by making me leave my performing arts school after a year. 1 week into the new term I recieved a phone call from a girl on my course – She cried down the phone and shouted at me with some of the harshest truths i had ever heard. But there was a difference between her harsh words and his fists. Hers were born of real love for me and frustration that id given up on the things that meant most to me in the world – My friends and my dreams.
In that moment, hearing her be real with me, i realised that i was risking everything to be with someone who controlled me every minute of every day. I left him, went back to my school where they had held my place for me and even performed the solo that theyd kept in the music concert for me. My Dad cried out of relief that id somehow been made to see a sense that they’d seen for too long.
I still, more than 7 years later, credit that girl and that phonecall as being the single most impactive action in my life. It was harsh but angleic nonetheless.
Thanks to that single phonecall and act of real love, Im a professional singer now.

Four years ago I convinced my sons that they’d do the Moonwalk with me & on the day of our 20 miler training a dog ran into me & hurt my leg. We were in the middle of nowhere and my boys had to carry me to a place I could get picked up to go to hospital. I was convinced I only needed ice & a tubigrip but I actually ended up having operation & a plaster cast up to my hip!
Not only were my boys my heroic angels that day, a fortnight later they did the Moonwalk on their own in neon pink sports bras, complete with ‘headlights’ & their names in glitter!!
Last year i was waiting for the bus home from town when i was approached by a man, he asked me if i had £2 so that he could get the bus home as he had spent the whole day and night there becasue everybody ignored him when he asked them. I decided i was in a good mood and wanted do a good deed so i gave him the £2. Soon the bus had arrived and i stepped on it. I rummaged around my bag for my bus pass only to realise it wasnt in there and left it in my other bag. I started panicking as i had no other way of getting home and it was the last bus of the day. I carried on looking hoping that it would be in one of the compartments when somebody tapped me on the shoulder. It was the man who i gave the £2 to and must have noticed that i forgotten my bus pass from the frantic look on my face. He held out the £2 i gave to him and said “you were kind enough to give me this in the first place and i think you need this more than me, make sure you get home safley” he then gave it me and walked off the bus.
It just goes to show if you do something angelic in the first place, people really appreciate the smallest kind gesture and may return it to you in times of need.

So many inspiring entries, I’m going to add my own *angelic moment* though obviously not enter my own giveaway! My lovely friend W and I walk really, really early in the park with my dogs togther at least once a week. Last year in the rose garden there was this one rose that was SO showy and virtually toxic bright that I just fell in love with it – had no idea where to get one but watched it the whole rose season go from amazing to fading away. The following year she went to the Chelsea Flower show and saw the rose plant and bought it for me. She had gone on the train and the bus so for her to drag this flipping rose, thorns and all all the way home and then to my house was so touching that I burst into tears on the spot!
My Mum has done a lot of angelic things for me, one of the nicest was when I was 6 months pregnant with my first baby and we were about to move house. She came over to the UK (she lives in Hungary) just to help us clean the new house which included scrubbing the extremely dirty, black, greasy oven for 3 days just so I don’t have to breathe in the fumes. I would most certainly share my winnings with her as she is a very selfless and helpful person.

The most angelic thing someone has done for me was to come and pick me up (the mass transport people were on strike at the day, and the exams were not canceled) to take me to one of my Uni finals. He lives 4 hours away from me. He also brought me breakfast. And calmed me down during the ride to Uni. And then waited for me to take me back home. Since then we’re together. That was an angelic day 😀

To me ‘angelic’ means bringing hapiness and comfort, so I will not tell a story about someone saving my day. I will tell you about the friend who wakes me up at three in the morning just to sing to me that favourite song of ours, and who makes the waking up a few hours later the most beautiful thing in the world – and I know she’s always there, with that song on her lips, so that when I hear it a big smile inevitably adorns my face. This is what I call a blessing from an angel.

My mum is my angel. She still looks after me now. Our house sale fell through and I was gutted and everyone just wanted to talk to me about it but I was sick of having the same conversation over and over again, mum just came gave me a hug and some new nailpolishes and Percy pigs. She knows me inside out and what I always need.

I am a single Mum. I woke up a couple of weeks ago with a very bad migraine. I explained to my son (who is 6 & half) that Mummy had a bad headache & just needed to rest. Could he please play or watch CBeebies for a little while? “Yes Mummy I will”
About 40mins later, I heard him walking up the stairs very slowly. He had a glass full of orange cordial (he didnt know to dilute it!) “this is to help you feel better Mummy, I have also done some jobs for you”
He had “cleaned” the bathroom (using the clean towels & blue handsoap); taken the washing from the machine and put it on the dryer (clothes were still dry & dirty); dusted in the lounge (using window cleaner & dish cloth).
Why angelic – my son has ADHD & autism – not severe, but it is there. For him to focus on these tasks, without being asked, is selfless on his part & therefore angelic.
I am one lucky Mummy.

Giving birth to me of course, so my answer is my mum. She always wants to see me and she has been crying for over ten years now since I moved from Stockholm to Gothenburg. I would definitely share the prize with her if I had the chance to win. My mum can always tell if I feel bad and everytime I buy something a little more expensive she puts in a few crowns on my bank account even though I always say no and even though she does not earn very much. The most angelic thing someone has ever done for me is really quite amazing.
When I was in mid twenties, I had to give up my lovely studio flat to go and live in a shared house for money reasons. My worst fears about shared living were realised when my landlord turned out to be a fat man who liked to make his breakfast in his pants… he was most odd.
He accused me of stealing money from him, no amount of arguing on my part could convince him otherwise.
I had no money, no family locally, nothing. A friend came and picked me up, and put me into her uncles empty house for three weeks rent free.
Without her I would literally have been homeless.

The one that comes to mind occurred when I was unhappily living in a place far from home and we were robbed while we slept. They took everything, including our computer that we used to Skype home to our families. I was shaken up and devistated. We weren’t in a place where computers were readily available to purchase. Our lovely, angelic neighbor brought us some vegan brownies to calm our nerves and lent us a spare laptop of hers for as long as we needed (which turned out to be 6 months) so we could communicate with our families. That kindness was so great and she along with her husband became great friends of ours.

The most angelic thing? Hmm… There are so many angels that have done lovely things for me but the best would probably have to be my friend Ben. I had been feeling a bit down in the dumps and had been telling him about it. I had work the next day and he asked me when I would be finished and I told him, thinking nothing of it. Then that afternoon, he cycled (he doesn’t drive) a good 10 miles in the rain to come and see me and then we sat under a tree and talked for 2 hours. And then he walked me (and his bike!) almost the whole way back to mine (it was still raining!). I just thought it was so sweet and it really cheered me up so he was my little angel for the day and we’re still great friends!

For me, the most angelic thing anyone ever did for me is the way my hubby helped me when I had my little boy. I had a terrible time, where at one point it was unlikely I would survive. My husband was the only one that did every little thing for me when I was incapable of doing anything for myself. Not once did he even hint that he didn’t want to do it. For me it was the most memorable thing because it was then that I realised how much he loved me and till this day still does. The total honesty in him is what makes him so angelic x

The most angelic thing someone has ever done for me…
2 years ago, my then-fiance broke up with me after we had dated for 2.5 years. I was obviously devastated and I sobbed my heart out to my Mum. She had warned me about him all along – she could have said “I told you so” – instead, she cuddled me and stroked my hair and said, “You deserve better. I promise it will get better!” She wasn’t always there for me as she used to be a gambler and basically was never home when I was growing up. We have a rollercoaster relationship but that was one of the most touching things she has ever done to me. My Mum is my angel 😀

The most angelic thing anyone has ever done for me was three years ago when I had an undiscovered low blood pressure problem which caused me to faint on the spot with no warning. At one time I collapsed in the middle of a zebra crossing when walking home from college. Many cars drove around me as I lay there completely out for the count, but one kind couple pulled out of their car, lifted me out from the road, wrapped me in blankets from their boot and called an ambulance, waiting with me until it arrived. For two people who I have never met before who probably had somewhere to be to show such kindness, I was truly grateful. When the ambulance crew told me of the couple’s kindness I was so overwhelmed, anything could have happened to me in the middle of a road! Truly angelic.

This may sound cliché, but the most angelic thing anyone has ever done for me can’t be pinpointed down to a single moment in time. Instead, my mother has been doing angelic things for me my whole life. She’s brought me up to be my own person; to love and respect others; to be a strong, confident and self-assured woman; and sacrificed everything to let me live my own life, by going away to study at university.

Most angelic thing… Well, one of the many angelic things my Mother has done for me!
When I was a student, in my final two weeks of Uni, I went home to Cornwall for a break from last minute dissertation work etc.
On my return to Sheffield, I walked into my house to find I’d been burgled over the weekend. By burgled, I mean totally rinsed 🙁
My laptop (with ALL my work on) had been taken, my folders had been gone through, right down to my bedsheets had been taken!
The first person I called, before the police even as I was in total shock, was my Mum.
She drove straight up from Cornwall through the night (8 hours drive!) and helped me sort everything out – calling the insurance company, helping me get my uni work back together, sorting out getting a laptop replacement, making me cups of tea and generally being amazing!
I cannot express just how much she helped me get through it all – and I managed to get everything sorted out because of her. I wouldn’t have coped without her!
(I managed to pass my degree too!)

I was diagnosed with MS two years ago and while it was a shock at first I think I cope quite well with it.
However, there is no doubt that my attitude is helped by a fantastic set of friends of family … so in essence, they have all been unbelievably angelic – my husband, my parents, my extended family and my friends – they know when I need a chat, when I need them to be silently supportive and when I need a large dose of wine and laughter.
There really is no better cure than people close to you propping you up. They truly are my angels 🙂

The most angelic thing (i will use the word someone losely) was when i was really ill and had fallen asleep on the sofa when i was awoken by a big wet nose and a lick to the face. It was then followed by my Husky hiding her nose in her paws and looking up at me like “wasn’t me”

The most angelic thing someone has done for me was by my friend. Me and my boyfriend were splitting up and she put up with me moaning, crying and being an emotional mess when she was trying to plan the most exciting day of her life – her wedding.
I couldn’t have asked for a better friend and felt so bad putting a downer on her planning but all she cared about was that I was ok.

I have become stronger now and my health has improved so much since this
I am eternally thankful for her help and will remember this for the rest of my life.
I always take the time and love helping her and treating her to things which is a small part from me and take time out for her, my last treat was a spa day, which was great as she lost her job, so was feeling down and worried about money. She did relax during the day, so i was glad that we had this time together and will make this a regular thing

the most angelic thing anyone has ever done for me is track me down to return a usb stick containing my much laboured over dissertation.
i dropped it outside the library and someone picked it up, found my university username on a document (there was no other contact info anyway), came to the university (other side of london to the university) and handed it in at the office. I never got to thank the anonymous angel personally, but thank you!
The most angelic thing somebody has even done for me is to lend me their very precious (and expensive) wedding dress for our own wedding. It looked as if it had been hand made for me and she didn’t even wince when somebody stepped on the train and tore it right in front of her. Now that’s angelic…
