Essence Fall 2017

Essence Fall 2017

There are lots of new products coming from Essence for autumn so for this post I’ve pulled out a few that have grabbed my attention. Starting with this metallic lash & brow gel – because like it or not metallic brows are a trend. I suspect we will see it more in editorial than real life but you never know – once Instagram gets a hold of it we might be seeing it up and down the supermarket aisles. Obviously, in the safety of my own house, I’ve tried it on both – it’s much better on brows than lashes – and to my great surprise I love it! If someone made a dark brown metallic hit brow gel I would definitely wear it: as it is, even though it looks surprisingly wearable (because you don’t look as though you’ve sprayed your brows with metallic graffiti paint) I am not sure if I’m brave enough to go out in it. Maybe, we’ll see. There are other shade options (a reddish colour, blue, purple and silver) and it’s £2.80.

Next up is the Metal Chrome Blush – this one is the rose gold version although to my eye it’s not very ‘rosy’, but there is a copper and a bronze version too. At £3 if you’re still doing the metal highlight trend, I can’t find anything to complain about here – it’s blendy and shiny, exactly as it’s supposed to be.

The Prismatic Hololighter Stick is great – it really does give an iridescent flash wherever you apply it although it skews more blue than pink. Again, at £3.50 I think it’s amazing value – it’s not for me and it’s a little oily to expect a very long last, but does the job. What more can you ask?

All of these launch into Wilco stores (I’ve got one opening near me and I wouldn’t be the least excited other than to know I can find Essence there!) from September.

Essence is a really nice brand with shoes across Mac cosmetics. Especially love their brow gel. Too bad I don’t live anywhere near a Wilkos anymore

  2. I love Essence! That metallic eyebrow gel looks so interesting!
