My feelings on unpaid internships are pretty well known; not fair every which way you look at it. However, the winner of a recent competition to win a year’s PAID internship at Elle UK Magazine has just been announced and I hope it’s going to send a signal to other magazines that this is how it’s done. Not only was it a competition worth winning because the internship lasts a year and the winner will really have some excellent experience under her belt to take to her next job, but they’re paying her, properly. I should mention that the internship is split between Elle, PZ Cuzzons and House PR, so the winner gets the best possible introduction to the world of beauty via a magazine, a brand and an agency.

Ah wow, this is such an incredible, once in a life time opportunity. I’m really happy for Shannon, she seems lovely. I’d absolutely love this opportunity. Hopefully there’ll be another competition next year!xx
