Elie Saab Rose Couture
Elie Saab Rose Couture

There’s an awful lot of rose around at the moment, but I’m amazed how different they all are. This one is created by Francis Kurkdjian for Elie Saab and to my nose, it’s a vanilla dipped rose fragrance. My personal preference is for something fresher and more ‘real rose’ that this. With orange blossom, peony, vanilla and patchouli, it’s too easy to lose the actual rose notes.

I’ve had it on my skin for a couple of hours and it’s dried down to even more vanilla, but softly so with no brashness. A lot of the fragrance brands rely on vanilla to trigger our happy feelings, but this is creamier and more sophisticated than that – no cake notes!

It’s a stunning bottle and (I think) the little rose embossed bag is a GWP. Prices for Elie Saab Rose Couture start at £34 and launch date is 1st February.
