Ooh, I always love an innovation and the Clarins 3 Dot Liner is perfect for anyone who finds creating the perfect line difficult. I’ve only really mastered it after years of trying and that’s only because I discovered flat ‘push’ brushes and realised that I’m best with a high pigment powder line rather than liquid. However, Clarins 3 Dot Liner is such a handy tool for lining because you dab at the very roots of the lashes to create a much fuller looking lashline and the liner creates dots like this:
Then you go over the line again filling in the gaps and voila!
Having tested it, I can say that once it has dried it does not budge, but it is a little bit fluid on application to really seep into the lash line. You can see a tiny bit of bleeding into the cracks of the skin, but this doesn’t really happen on the lid.. for extra safety though, I’d use an eye primer to give it that extra ‘hold’. The applicator is quite soft which is safer to be dabbing at the lash root or nudging between lashes, but you really literally only need to ‘touch’ the lash line with it rather than put any force behind it. It is designed for a heavy and fuller lash line so the closer in you get, the better the result.
It is £20 and launches in September.
The Limited Edition Colour Accents Face & Powder Blush Palette is super pretty for a very natural look and more, I’d say, as an end-of-the-season all over tan/complexion enhancer than a shot of heavy colour. It’s £30.
Clarins are also bringing out sixteen mineral shadows for eyes that can be used in a wet or dry formula. I tested Silver Green (above) that was quite pale but pretty without wetting, and once wet, found a whole lot of sheen undetected as a dry powder. They’ve also got some stunning nude eye shades in Nude, Petal, Golden Rose, Lingerie and Tea Rose for those who love a pared-down palette of colours on their eyes. They’re £16 each.

The liner is not a new concept in that the Kanebo sub-brand Kate have an identical product. I’m not sure when it was originally released but there’s a review of it from another beauty blogger, as far back as 2010. It is a new product to the UK market (as far as I’m aware) as Kate’s not available here.

Clarins powders are the best I’ve ever tried so I’ll really look forward to that, the shadows sound fab as does the liner, as much like you I can’t really work with liquid liner and prefer to push a liner in with a pigmented powder and flat brush!
I pretty much love everything about Clarins and am trying to use up all my powders and foundations so I can exclusively use Clarins, that is how much I love them.

these look such a good idea but it’s quite strange that it’s being promoted at the same time as the Too Faced version (looks identical) is being released
I had a look at this a few weeks back and couldn’t decide if this was a great innovation or more of a gimmicky new product. I’ve also seen a recent release from a different, cheaper brand that I can’t remember who was right now? Your right about it staying on when it’s on, I could barely get it off myself!
I WANT that liner. Interesting how Too Faced also brought out such liner for Autumn, I hope that other brands won’t start having their own version now…
