Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream 2

Hmm, well this battered pot doesn’t look all that promising at first glance, but it’s the stuff of beauty legend, coming from make up artist, Charlotte Tilbury.

I put this on pretty much as soon as I got it because I’ve heard so much about the ‘secret’ cream, and while my first impression was that it’s a bit like Nivea, it didn’t take long to realise that it really is quite special. So, it has the consistency of a cold cream (like Nivea) and a similar smell,  but includes a BioNymph Peptide Complex, SPF, a hyaluronic acid booster and an infusion of rose hip, camellia and Vitamin E oils.

So, what does it do? Well, the claim is ‘re-plumping’ amongst other things and I’d say that’s quite hard to tell having only used it in the very short term. What I can say it does immediately is give my skin a very, very potent wash of moisture and left it feeling ridiculously soft. I’d also say that it feels a little as though there is a slight (but comfortable) barrier there after application; it certainly didn’t interfere with my make up at all (in fact, it went on like a dream). I can see why Charlotte’s celeb clients get hooked on it. It’s not even for sale presently – Charlotte has been bespoke mixing skin-care for years, but watch this space for news on her new make- up line (with some skin care and hopefully Magic Cream) launching in August (I will guess into Selfridges!) so I’m using it sparingly – who knows when I might ever see another?
