I’m so glad I tried this little beauty which initially looked pretty blah to me. Rose Platine is the kind of shade that is so understated in amongst all the wow colours right now that it would have been very easy to overlook it. But, it really has a special something. The shade is quite hard to describe – it’s like an old, antiqued gold fused with platinum and very discrete burnished pink – it almost looks greyish in the pencil. But, when you pop it on your eyes, they instantly come alive. I haven’t been wearing a lot of eye make up – I’ve become a little bit over-sensitive to Botox so when I had my last lot, instead of giving my eyes a little lift, it sent my brows down, so my eyes are looking very heavy and it is a little bit pointless weighing them down with my favourite dark greys and greens as it only makes things worse. I might point out about this downturn that it sometimes does happen – it is a known undesirable side effect and all I can do is wait it out.

Back to Rose Platine. I’ve been wearing it as a simple liner with no other eye make up at all other than a little bit of black kohl on my inner rims. It gives a light shimmer but it is well pigmented so even though it is a light shade, it’s quite radiant. I’d definitely recommend this as an every-day liner for when you can’t be bothered with the whole make up thing. It just adds something.

It’s got a retractable tip and integral sharpener and costs £17.50.
