There’s definitely a mood with the Bobbi Brown Scotch On The Rocks collection even though it’s a variation on a theme. Rich reds, smouldering golds and chocolate shades make it spot on for the glamour mood of the festive season. The main focus is on warm tones with a hit of sparkle although I am really never sure about sparkling lipsticks – it’s my experience that it’s not long before you’re left with just bits of glitter stuck to your lips because the colour fades well before the glitter goes. However, I haven’t put these to the test so I won’t pre-judge.
To round up the items above, starting with the red lip and heading clockwise: Bordeaux Lipstick (£22), Beige Gold Lipstick (£22), Lip Gloss in Scarlet (£18.50) and Limited Edition High Shimmer Glitter Lip Gloss in Bellini (£18.50).
The Highlight Powders are my favourite thing from the Bobbi Brown Scotch On The Rocks collection – they’re absolutely stunning and if you love shimmer they knock it out of the park on high sheen. I’d use these on my eyes too and possibly experiment with it dabbed on the lip over lipstick.
See what I mean! The bottom one is the Bronze Glow and top is Pink Glow – I find Bronze Glow more golden than bronze but Pink Glow definitely has strong aspects of pink in it.. almost a pink-over-silver effect. Obviously, they’re supposed to be worn in a diffused way and I’ve swatched at intensity for the full on effect, but you can see that there is sheen galore. The Highlght Powders are £34 each.
Two more lipsticks, this time, Malt Shimmer and Sultry Red – I’m wearing Sultry Red right now and it’s a super-smack of warm red with masses of pigment.
The two gold lipsticks, Malt Shimmer and Beige Gold Shimmer have barely a scrap of difference between the two – what you can’t see very clearly here is that they’re full of iridescent shimmer but I would be very hard pushed to tell them apart.
The Bobbi Brown Scotch On The Rocks collection has already launched HERE – I’ll show the two nail colours and the signature palette for the look in a separate post.
