A little while ago, I posted that BB creams were heading to the UK, with one big beauty brand devising their own for the UK market that will launch this summer. I’ve just been on Sephora.com and guess what’s listed as a ‘hot item’? BB cream – if any more evidence were needed that the skincare/make-up hybrids so popular in Asia are well and truly heading our way.

I was interested in how they describe Dr Jart Water Fuse Beauty Balm, as I’ve struggled myself to give a meaningful description for these creams that heal and beautify, so here goes, straight from the site:

Water Fuse Beauty Balm SPF 25 PA++

What it is:
A one-step skin perfecting balm that minimizes the need for foundation or concealer.

What it is formulated to do:
A moisturizer, sunscreen, and treatment serum, this all-in-one product also hides imperfections. Made with 50 percent water, Dr. Jart’s Advanced Water Bead Technology helps hydrate and maintain healthy moisture for a dewy, fresh look. Like a drink for your skin, once applied, tiny droplets of water appear before being quickly absorbed, generating an instant soothing and cooling effect.

As if the BB buzz wasn’t enough, there are already ‘next generation’ BB creams on the market, known as CC creams. Apparantly, keeping all the skin benefits of BB creams, CCs have more sophisticated ingredients and better coverage.
