My face actually broke into a smile when I saw this collection – it’s about as stylish as make up gets in an understated but glamorous way. The hero of the range, inspired by the Art Deco period, is the Madre Perla Palette, £95, with the lid inlaid with mother-of-pearl and exclusive at Selfridges when the range launches. Subtle reflectors and illuminators give a beautiful glow so you can use it on the face or eyes.

Next up are the Eyes To Kill Eye Shadows, £24.50, in Gold, Silver and, my favourite, Gold & Silver blend.

I’ll show the eye palette at a later date, but to finish, this sumptuous purple gloss, Gloss d’Armani Rouge, £21.

There’s also a new mascara from Armani as well – the kind of weightily packaged, expensive mascara that makes me wish my eyelash extensions away for a moment to just feel the texture. Eyes To Kill Stretching Mascara is pigment packed for properly black (or midnight blue) lashes and the brush is both fat and flat in an asymetric form to coat the lashes with the flat side and lengthen and curve with the fat side. It’s £23.50 at Selfridges on 29th September and nationwide from 27th October.
