I knew there was more to this Argan oil/Berber story we are all fed whenever a product comes along containing Argan. Someone on Twitter very kindly sent me a link to a page explaining all about the Berber women and Argan Oil. And now we know why they aren’t driving Mercedes. Argan Oil Production

mmm – the fact that it comes in a spray too makes me think there can’t be much oil in it…. normally an oil will come in a pump dispenser. Will be interesting to see what response, if any, you get… 🙂
Couldn’t agree more. I personally buy from Arganic: 100% argan oil…
I loved the original post as well.
Well done
Thanks for raising awareness on your website about the Berber women cooperatives.
I buy my Argan oil from a company here in the UK called Pure Argan Oil which directly supports the Marocavie Association a charity set up to help the women and children of Southwest Morocco have a better life.
I tell everyone to buy from them – http://www.purearganoil.co.uk/sustainable-development/
We should be using Argan Oil, the tree has been conserved and planted because it is useful to humans. The tree is not dying out, in fact we are saving it. Buying the oil also provides an income for women in Africa. Avon products can be good, but you cannot expect to get pure Argan Oil for that price. Would you buy a £5 perfume and expect the ingredients to be of the same quality as niche perfumery?
