This is exactly my kind of sweater – plain but with something unexpected. It’s pure cotton so won’t give you the mega-heat of wool, but I’ve been in some offices (and shops) lately that clearly are trying to boil their employees and customers and the addition of a hot, wool sweater is asking for a fainting spell! The Love Hate Sweater is £22 HERE.
At the opposite end of embellishment is this sequin front sweater from Oasis.. I love this one as well for bringing some bling to an otherwise pretty average look. Winter sparkle can go so many kinds of wrong; I think this is every kind of right! It’s £45 HERE.
I have two sweaters in this kind of shape (bought two years ago in Zara) and to say I’ve worn them to death is an understatement – they’re shadows of their former selves! This loose and expansive sweater shape does everything for hiding a multitude of sins and making your legs look skinny. I’ve bought a pair of leather-look leggings from Uniqlo (hideous off, gorgeous on and bargainous at £19.99 HERE) that I’d pair with this sweater. The sweater is from Ted Baker and has a zip detail on the shoulder. It’s £119 HERE.

Hi Jane! Hope you don’t mind me asking but what is the sizing like in the leather look leggings? I really want to order some but don’t live anywhere near a stockist. Do they have a bit of stretch to them? I’m usually a 12 in bottoms but have a really tiny size 8 waist and so jeans etc are a pain in the arse to fit. Hopefully if theyre stretchy enough I could get away with a 10! x
I’m wearing a size 10.. they do stretch out a little bit but not at the knees or anywhere obvious.. they sit quite close the waist on me (but I’m 5ft 3ins)..it’s really hard to say but I think ten sounds right for you.. they might look tight on the first day’s wear though! x
