Oh, please! I love anything rinky-dinky like the Perfect Eyes & Brow Palette for Clarins Autumn Make-Up 2014 – if it’s teeny weeny, I have to have it! The Palette is part of the Ladylike Collection for Autumn. Often with miniatures, things don’t really work properly, but I’ve tested out the tweezers and brush and they’re absolutely great. So, the premise of this palette is to give brows a good grooming session with wax and powders, and the pink shade is eyeshadow for a natural, but enhanced lid.
The Clarins Eye Quartet in skin tone shades is absolutely beautiful for a defined, natural look – this amplified tone look is something I am seeing from a lot of brands for A/W and it’s done particuarly well here. One of the things I love about Clarins is that they tell you what to do!
Not everyone knows exactly what to do with products and I’m always impressed with comprehensive instructions.
Next up for newness is the Ombre Matte Cream-to-Powder shadow – six new shades in degrees of nude and darks. They remind me a bit of Bobbi Brown cream shadows in terms of spectrum and nailing the nude look, but the Clarins version is cream to powder that feels silky, not sticky, on the eye.
So, here’s the palette and the Cream to Powder in Earth – a very rich dark brown.
Finally, for eyes, a new shade of Clarins 3 Dot Liner in a deep, warm brown. If you haven’t discovered the 3-dot system, it’s really a godsend for those who find lining difficult. You simply dot at the lash root and keep on dotting til the line is filled so you don’t have to rely on one straight swoop being spot on first time.
Prices are: 3 Dot Liner, £20. Ombre Matte Shadow, £19, Eyes & Brows Palette, £35, Eye Quartet, £32. The Clarins Autumn Make-Up 2014 is available from August. I am splitting the newness up into two posts, so the next post will cover base and lips.
