Last spring, I complained that Lancome had gone way too young with their offerings so I’m so happy that this coming spring it’s all about sheer elegance – at any age. Based around ballet (new face, Lily Collins has a grandmother, Jen Hale, who was a famous ballerina in the 1940’s) with a new, urban twist, the key symbol is a bow (and Lancome isn’t the only brand that’s gone all ribbons and bows for spring).
French Ballerine is a very fresh collection with a splash of near-neon with nails in pink and white.
The white shade is a ‘colour optimizer’ meaning that it boosts the top colour from below.
Two new shades of Hypnose Ultra Dazzling colours in a moussy texture are whisper-light and ultra-pretty.
The Spring Blush Highlighter with a beautiful rose also has the bow detail on the palette lid. The collection launches on 2nd January 2014. Everything about this collection is completely wearable – there’s nothing I wouldn’t absolutely relish wearing and it feels like a very thoughtful collection.
