Dior Spring Look 2013: Cherie Bow

Palette Cherie Bow £59

You can probably imagine that I can do nothing but squeak in wonder at the gorgeousness of the Cherie Bow collection for Spring 2013 from Dior. Dior are very good to me but it’s not for that reason that I get so excited about their collections – it’s far more about the creativity at a level you don’t really see coming from anywhere else. A bow shaped compact? It shouldn’t work, but does. And the collections always tie into the heritage. You can see some really tenuous links going on with other brands, but here, the homage is to the bow that Christian Dior loved; it’s a very feminine touch and he was a man who understood femininity.

Dior Vernis, £18.

Tyen, Creative Director of Dior Make-up, who translates and creates these beauties is pretty much my hero.

Dior Twinset Eyeshadow £24.50

Strangely enough, it’s these eyeshadow pens that I cannot wait to swatch…especially the bright pink. And probably because I won’t be able to bear to swatch the Bow palette right away..that kind of thing takes some leading up to!

Dior 5 Couleurs Palette, £41

Pink and black – I want this look now!

Dior Nail Glow, £18.

Another little quirky product to make the collection even more playful – I’m not sure what it does yet, but you’ll be the first to know when I find out!

DiorBlush Pink Happiness, £29.50

So those are the main events for Dior Spring 2013 – there are different colourways to some of the items and I don’t have pictures of everything yet – but do you love it? I’d genuinely be interested in what you think of the creativity and look of this collection.

Oh, lastly, I should say, it’s really not so long to wait for it because it launches on 4th January in Selfridges and nationwide on the 18th.

  1. How lovely! Such a well curated and beautifully executed collection. I can’t help but contrast it to the Lancome – here is how you can make a high end collection that is youthful and feminine, WITHOUT making it seem cheap or unappealing to other age groups and markets.

Intrigued by the Nail Glow and the pens! I wonder if the “glow” products are ones that change with PH/heat.

The glow products will be like the Smashbow O-Glow range I reckon where they change with heat. That’s my prediction anyway!

A bow shaped compact! How could that NOT work?!! Divine and feminine colours, just what you would expect from Dior. Love the execution and the use i
of classic Dior motifs such as the bow and the houndstooth print. Also the way the compact has a clasp like a purse! All in all love the way they are proposing a new statement in colour that is likely to appeal to to many come Spring. Then again I am totally biased because this is totes up my street!

  4. Oh good lord… it’s so beautiful I actually feel a bit emotional! (wtf is that about?!)

A good luxury brand/item is always about the emotional connection with the customer not just the product 😉 I know just how you feel! I never run out of things to fall in love with!

  5. Just found your blog today!
    And…i’m hooked.
    So much inspiration, thank you!

  6. I worked for Dior for a while, their products are absolutely gorgeous. It was by far my favourite brand to work for. The 5 couleurs palettes were always well thought out combinations.

  7. The packaging of the palette is very pretty but I haven’t had a good experience with most of the LE palettes by Dior and also the eyeshadows in the palette don’t excite me at all. But I am really intrigued by the Nail Glow – I’m guessing it’s a similar concept to their Lip Glow and would love to see what it looks like on the nails. Thank you for the preview!

OMG…..OMG…..OMG!! I want every single product. I love the bow shaped pallet, the nail varnishes (how cool, pink and grey) and the eye pens. The blush is to die for! This will be an expensive spring 2013!

I cannot wait to get my little greedy hands on the whole collection!

    :-))

  9. Trust Dior to make me question all my previous make up standards. Pink eyeshadow will probably give me a touch of the myxies and “soft” lip shades do nothing for me but I want all of this.

  10. These are so gorgeous!! I love the palette but I think it’s one I might have to squirrel away rather than use! But I think the twinset eye pens might well be on the “to be bought” list too as they look fab. Not so sure about the pink ones but the silver one is just the colour I would use.
My bank manager is not going to love them quite so much though I fear!!

  11. *sigh* It’s collections like this just make me very glad to be a girl, this is beautiful. I wouldn’t want to use them, just place them in display cabinets and look at them

    1. Oh my! I haven’t been so excited about a collection in a while. The nail.colours, the eyeshadow pens, the shades – wow! Going to save my money for this 😀

I’ll take one each of all the eyeshadow pens please! Gorgeous!

  13. Oh god, they did this to me last year– I’m going to be so broke!!

  14. The glow probably is pH triggered but also giving your nails a soft pink flush will make them look healthy and glow? Two cents thought!

Can’t wait for Spring now 🙂 Love the blush and the lip products! The pink color looks so chic
