Okay, so MAC is having a shaky time with bloggers right now, but I’m impressed with their new range, Tartan Tale. It’s really different in terms of looks and concept, and the fact that they’ve incorporated a ‘Tis Noble To Give Viva Glam Lip Bag into the range where every penny of the purchase price, £20, goes directly to the MAC Aids Fund is, of course, great. There is also a cheeky checked teddy bear, £12.50, and a set of Helping Kids Christmas Cards, £5, under the same terms. I love the Eye, Lip & Face Kits, the Brush Sets and the amazing tartan eye shades. These gorgeous innovations have the tartan pattern on top of the compact layed down through a patented flocking process with tiny individual nylon fibres pre-dyed and laid down in the specific patterns. The colour goes all the way though – so there’s no overspraying here – and it’s actually a cosmetic industry first. The whole lot launches in November and it’s all limited edition. Intriguingly, the correct title for the range is Tartan Tale (Chapter 1) implying there is more to come.
I can’t help thinking that Burberry beauty must be kicking themselves for not getting hold of this technology. Would have been perfect.
